As we let you all know back at the start of April, here at Windmill International, we were so excited to be hosting the 2016 Ms World Table Dancing auditions here in our iconic theatre. The Windmill is the oldest strip club in London, and proud to have always offered dancers to the opportunity to take to the stage, and auditions give us an amazing chance to do this for a new group of girls.
On April 25th, 36 excited dancers were welcomed into our theatre to show off their dancing talents. Hailing from all over the world, these ladies really took to the challenge of showing us the most innovative and seductive dance routines and blowing our judges away with their talent.
The girls auditioning really rose to what must have been a nerve racking occasion; not only were the performing in front of the team at The Windmill, there were three judges to impress, an entire film crew and a whole host of photographers! However the girls really impressed everyone with their confidence and commitment – not to mention their amazing dance abilities.
Our fabulous judges kept a careful watch on all of our potential dancers…
Of course, there can be no auditions without judges, and the Ms World Table Dancer competition was lucky enough to be preceded over by three very special judges, who kept a close eye on every single aspect of the performances. The judging panel consisted of:
- Joe Alvarez. Joe is a celebrity columnist, photographer and the Editor in Chief of Ikon London Magazine.
- Rhea Elliott-Jones. Rhea is one of the most esteemed events planners in London, and regularly puts on show-stopping events here at The Windmill.
- and David Stokes.
The auditions were a huge success! Both the auditionees and the judging panel enjoyed a wonderful day, and we were incredibly pleased to welcome some new dancers to our world famous line up. The auditions went to well that we are already planning our final event of this kind at 2 pm on the 22nd June 2016 (watch this space…).
