2017 is over, but what a year it was.
For The Windmill International it was filled to the brim with good times and of course beautiful women – everybody’s favourite Windmill dancers. So before we plunge headfirst into 2018, join us for a look back on some of the best moments of 2017.
Lights, Camera, Action!
Over the past year, our historic venue has been used as a location for filming, photoshoots and interviews. A lot of these projects still remain under wraps, all except for the BBC1’s The One Show who filmed one of their segments in our humble abode in April. What took place at The Windmill International was an interview with the legendary writer, actor and comedian Barry Cryer.
Barry recollected on his journey to stardom, and how his career began on our world-famous stage when he was only 19 years old.
J’Adore La Vie
In July, The Windmill became home to the illustrious duo Janet Mayer and Ami Benton, more commonly known as J’Adore La Vie. Every week these stunning ladies bring high-end cabaret to the people of London with their salacious show, that involves, to name a few, vintage bespoke costumes, 1930s haute couture, and risqué burlesque. The irresistible duet is staying with us into the new year, so you still have time to see one hell of a show.
Madame Burlesque Miss Fallon Dee
The jaw-dropping and unbelievably talented Madame Burlesque was another act that graced our world-famous stage this past September. Miss Fallon Dee’s credits are almost as long as her luscious legs. The professionally trained model and dancer began her career at the Moulin Rouge before becoming one of the West End’s Burly Girls. Since then she’s toured all around the globe, starring in movies and TV adverts, working alongside such names as Elton John, Take That, Kylie Minogue and Justin Timberlake.
The Windmill Refurb
After a few months hiding under scaffolding, The Windmill International revealed its new and improved façade to the streets of London, just in time for summer. The refurbishment saw a fresh lick of paint applied to the buildings exterior, plus a renovated sign to greet patrons as they enter. The dining room is still under construction, but will be ready very soon (keep an eye out for the announcement).
A special thanks is in order for all of our amazing customers, clients, partners and dancers. 2017 wouldn’t have been the same without you.
