Ah 2016, we’ll miss you. What a great year you’ve been!
We’re about to draw the curtain on another year of wall-to-wall celebrations, parties and breathtaking performances at the Windmill International, Soho’s premier gentlemen’s club. From Valentine’s Day to Halloween to Black Friday, the party just hasn’t stopped! That makes it a good time to look back at all the fun we’ve had…
This year we hosted legions of sports fans for an irresistible fusion of hot naked dancers and edge-of-the-seat football, by broadcasting every Euro 2016 match LIVE right here at the Windmill. Between June 10th and July 10th, you got to watch your team play in the company of the world-famous Windmill Girls. And as temperatures rose on the pitch, temperatures soared in the Windmill! Whatever the outcome of the game, the Windmill Girls made sure nobody left the venue disappointed.
White Tuesdays and Black Nights
2016 saw the introduction of ‘White Tuesdays’ at the Windmill, when our beautiful temptresses don sensuous all-white lingerie and become snow angels for the night. Of course, we use the term ‘angel’ very loosely! Meanwhile, Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Windmill became ‘Black Nights’. This is when our dancers perform tantalising striptease routines in ravishing all-black costumes and ask patrons the million-dollar question, “Are you afraid of the dark?”
A new lick of paint
In autumn we embarked on a refresh of the Windmill’s historic exterior. Initial renovation work is now complete and the place looks brighter and jazzier than ever! There are some more exciting changes coming—more on that soon!
The Windmill anniversaries
This summer we celebrated an astonishing 85 years of our historic theatre. The Windmill Theatre was opened in June 1931 by the iconic Laura Henderson and became home to Vivian Van Damm’s pioneering tableaux vivants of female nudes, the first fully nude stage performances in London. 85 years on, that same theatre is still showcasing beautiful nudes, but trust us when we say, things are a lot steamier and more risqué than they were back in the 30s!
What’s more is that the Windmill International — the club in its current form — turned 20 years old in April. So we actually had two birthdays to celebrate this year!
Thank you to all of our patrons, partners, dancers and staff for making the Windmill the best, most celebrated and most sought-after gentlemen’s club in all of London! We look forward to an even more enthralling 2017, packed with surprises and, of course, the most mesmerising strip shows, lap dances and burlesque performances in the capital.
